diggin'

the garage is going down...finally!

bye bye silly sunroom!

bye bye stupid garage!

no more smellin' the "rotten foot" smell when going into the garage! geez, you have no clue what that means to us! that damn garage should have been comdemned years and years ago. it smelled, it was moldy, and when it rained outside, it rained equally inside. the whole floor would have an inch or so of water in it. and, what horrible pet owners we are, that's where we kept owen's litter box and food and water. it would get so bitter cold in that stupid garage that when we checked on owen's water situation one winter day, the dang bowl of water was frozen solid. but, seize the day, the garage is gone!!!!!!!!!!!!

bob the builder came over on tuesday and glenn and i helped him tear down the siding, tar paper and cut out windows, cabinets, etc. all done in 3-4 hours. then the next day the bulldozer's hefty arm had the honor of knockin' the rest down to the ground. luckily there wasn't a large concrete flooring under the tv room and garage, so the big arm was able to pull up the flooring.

Back in business...

After a looooong period of design meetings with the City of Boulder Landmarks Alterations Committee, and a 3-month period of dealing with the City of Boulder Planning department, WE GOT OUR PERMIT!!!! We are thrilled to begin work on our adorable, humble home. It will go from 850 sq feet home to a 2500 sq feet home! ...fingers crossed all goes well and the budget remains intact. Before we purchased 512 Concord, Glenn met with the City of Boulder planners to see what exactly can be done with this house and lot. Well, we're about to see its potential. We are extremely eager to see what is about to unfold, and completely grateful for what we have accomplished at the ripe young ages of 29 and 34! Here we go...wish us luck.
